Do you know the signs that lead to judgment?
The disciples asked Jesus, What are the signs that will signify the end of the world?” There are 3 different stages.
The first sign that leads to judgment is called “birth pains.”
Birth pains are happening today. They are the beginning, and they will continue until the end. Our world is full of these signs: war, false prophets, hurricanes and earthquakes, persecution, etc. This world will not last forever, and Jesus is coming again to complete the judgment.
Judgment is God’s sentence for a person who hasn’t accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. They will spend eternity in hell. A Christian is a person who has made Jesus their Lord. A Christian’s judgment will not involve going to hell because their new home will be in heaven. Their judgment involves the rewards they will receive for everything they did for God’s kingdom.
The second signs that lead to judgment are the signs that will come right before the judgment.
These signs will let you know the world is about to end. You must prepare your heart for Jesus’ return. The false prophets, war, and earthquakes will increase, and everything getting worse are a few of the second signs. People will turn away from God when these things happen. Evil will become more prevalent than it has at any point in time.
If you are not a Christian, this is the time you will need to choose your side, whether you want to spend eternity in heaven or hell, before it’s too late.
The third signs that lead to judgment are when the end actually happens.
Some of the third and final signs will be that the sun and moon will not shine, and the stars will fall from the sky. Everyone will see this happening and believe it, but no one will know in advance when this time will come. There will be indications that it will happen, but the Bible says that no one will know for sure the exact time until it happens.
I believe these signs are happening now.
I don’t think this world will last much longer. Even though I‘m scared, I can’t wait for this to happen so that I can spend eternity with Jesus in heaven.
Matthew 24:30-31
“Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.”
The Bible says that no one will know the day that He will return, but we will all immediately see His return. The people that have not accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior will mourn. It is our job to lead people to God. If we watch for these signs, we will know when the time is approaching, which I believe is any day now.
As we get closer to the end, the signs will be more dramatic. We‘re to watch for these signs by staying alert. Christians do not need to worry about the end that leads to judgment, but if you are not a Christian, I pray that you change your way before it is too late. Jesus wishes that none will perish, and that is my wish too.
Jesus will return again like a thief in the night.
Numerous Bible verses say we will not know when Jesus will return. Here are several verses:
Revelation 16:15
“Behold, I am coming like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays awake, keeping his garments on, that he may not go about naked and be seen exposed!”
Matthew 24:43
“But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into.”
1 Thessalonians 5:2
“For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.”
1 Thessalonians 5:4
“But you are not in darkness, brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief.”
2 Peter 3:10
“But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.”
Do you know the signs that lead to judgment and Jesus’ return?
“Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his master has set over his household, to give them their food at the proper time? Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes. Truly, I say to you, he will set him over all his possessions. But if that wicked servant says to himself, ‘My master is delayed,’ and begins to beat his fellow servants and eats and drinks with drunkards, the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know and will cut him in pieces and put him with the hypocrites. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
Since we don’t know the time Jesus is coming, we must always be ready and alert for His return. When He returns, all Christians will be united with Him for all eternity.
How do we stay alert so we are ready for His return?
We need to be careful how we live by reading the Bible and getting to know God. Then share the gospel and live your life with purpose. We will receive rewards and judgment for what we do and don’t do. The first step is becoming a Christian by making Jesus your Lord and Savior; receiving rewards in heaven based on how you lived for God.
Won’t you accept Him as your Lord and Savior by praying:
Dear Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God, that you died for my sins, and that you were buried and rose again as written in the Bible. Please come into my heart so I can have eternal life. Fill me with the Holy Spirit and help me to live the way you want me to live. Forgive me for my past sins. Guide me in my future so that I can live my life for You. Amen.
Thinking about the end times can be a scary thing (and glorious too). I appreciate how you include the prayer of salvation at the end of your post. Jesus is always the answer!
The world today is pretty scary and unstable
Love the prayer that you included at the end!
I had not heard of the 3 signs so it was interesting to learn how those are broken down
I have never heard that the first sign that leads to judgment is called “birth pains.” Very interesting. Conjures some intense images too!
The prayer at the end is very similar to one we read/say in Church. It’s a great reminder of how much Jesus loves us.
I think it’s easy to look at all the bad happening in the world right now. So I choose to look for the good that is still there. If you look you will find it. And appreciate it that much more.
I agree that there are so many scary things happening in the world today. It’s comforting knowing that Jesus is my savior and that when judgement day comes, I’ll spend eternity with him. Thank you for sharing some signs to watch for.
Thank you so much for sharing. I had no idea of this process.
The prayer at the end is comforting.
Thank you for sharing
The world today is a scary place. Thank you for sharing.
Excellent Tammy! Yes! Jesus is my Lord and Savior! Well done good and faithful servant!
I see the world differently I think…and God’s grace and beauty EVERYWHERE. Since the time of the disciples, people have thought the world was ending. The disciples even thought it would happen in their lifetime. But Jesus says “I came to give you LIFE and life to the full.” I’m choosing to live that full life.
Wow what an interesting read…. especially with all that’s going on in the world! Sending love!
Worrying about and fearing the end isn’t how God wants us to live. We should be making every day count, living in joy and charity.
I have never heard of this! Very interesting.. thank you for sharing the Bible verse references.
Interesting info!
Acts 2:36-42
Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both LORD and Christ.
Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
For the promise is unto you, and your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call.
And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
Then they gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
And they continued stedfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship, and breaking of bread, and in prayers.
May all men obey GOD’S WORD.
