Tammy’s Story
Tammy Horvath is a Christian nonfiction author and speaker who writes powerful memoirs about faith, grief, forgiveness, and healing. Her life has taken her across glaciers in Iceland, ancient pyramids in Mexico, and sunlit Caribbean islands, but her greatest journey has been learning to trust God through unimaginable loss.
After losing her first husband in a tragic accident and, years later, her only son to murder, Tammy faced overwhelming grief and heartbreak. In the midst of that pain, she felt called by God to do the impossible: forgive and even love the person responsible for her son’s death. Through this journey of radical forgiveness, Tammy discovered that true healing comes not from understanding tragedy, but from surrendering to God and releasing bitterness. Her story is a testament to the power of faith, forgiveness, and hope after loss.
Tammy is the author of the Journeys Through Life series, a collection of Christian memoirs that explore real-life experiences of grief recovery, forgiveness, spiritual growth, and personal transformation. Her first book, Gone in an Instant, shares the raw story of losing her son and choosing forgiveness. In Life Begins with Travel and Exploring Mountains and Beaches, she writes about healing through travel, overcoming fear, and rediscovering joy after loss. Deep Inside documents her courageous decision to meet her son’s killer in prison, while One Text Away explores temptation, faith, and personal integrity. Her devotional, Life After Losing Luke, offers 50 devotions focused on finding peace, purpose, and hope through God’s presence in everyday life.
Through her writing and speaking, Tammy encourages others who are grieving, struggling with unforgiveness, or searching for hope in difficult seasons. Her message resonates with readers looking for Christian books on grief, forgiveness after tragedy, faith in suffering, and healing after loss. She shares openly, not as someone who has all the answers, but as someone who has walked through pain and experienced God’s faithfulness on the other side.
In addition to writing, Tammy has worked in real estate and insurance and has spent over a decade volunteering with a Christian nonprofit supporting at-risk children around the world. She is passionate about serving others and living out her faith through action.
Tammy lives in western Pennsylvania with her husband Michael. When she’s not writing, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family, reading on the beach, playing games, and singing karaoke at home.
