About Tammy Horvath

Tammy Horvath is a Christian nonfiction author and speaker whose six-book Journeys Through Life series shares true stories of faith, forgiveness, grief, healing, love, travel, adventure, temptation, and learning to see God in unexpected places.

Her life changed through two devastating losses. Her first husband, Tony, died in a fiery car crash. Eighteen years later, on August 2, 2017, her only son, Luke, was murdered.

In the aftermath of Luke’s death, Tammy chose to forgive the man who killed him without waiting for an apology, remorse, or explanation. At sentencing, when she saw him sitting alone with no one there to support him, that forgiveness deepened into something even she did not expect: genuine love. Years later, she would walk into prison to meet him face-to-face.

But Tammy’s story did not stop at tragedy. Her books explore the life that continued—solo travel to Iceland, fear of heights and tight spaces, Caribbean misadventures, Canadian mountains, prison visits, depression, family relationships, marriage, temptation, mistakes, laughter, and the ordinary moments in which she keeps learning to see God.

Tammy does not write as someone who always gets faith right. She writes from inside the struggle. She is willing to face fear, bad decisions, unanswered questions, awkward moments, and the places where she still has to decide what she believes.

Journeys Through Life is a six-book Christian nonfiction series combining memoir, travel, and devotional reflection. The books can be read in any order. Together, they form a candid portrait of a woman learning that grief can remain part of a life without becoming the whole life.

Through her writing and speaking, Tammy encourages readers to love people others may consider unlovable, face fear, forgive without making forgiveness dependent on another person’s remorse, keep living after loss, and look for God in both heartbreak and beauty.

In addition to writing, Tammy has worked in real estate and insurance and has spent more than a decade volunteering with a Christian nonprofit supporting at-risk children around the world.

Tammy lives in western Pennsylvania with her husband, Mike. When she is not writing, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, reading on the beach, playing games, exercising, and singing karaoke at home.
